My wife has tried regular Ben Wa Balls made out of stone, and found them to be too uncomfortable for her to use. These silicone Kegel Tightener Balls, however, are ever so much better. They are easy to insert, comfortable to wear, easy to remove, and easy to clean and store. There are printed instructions and a drawing showing how to use them and how to properly clean them after use. This is a set of five, each a different color and a different weight. The idea is to start with the lowest weight and gradually work your way up as the pelvic muscles become stronger. As women age, bladder leakage sometimes becomes a problem, and Kegel balls have been shown to help with that problem by strengthening muscles that have weakened with age or with childbirth. My wife definitely likes the fact that, unlike the stone Ben Wa Balls that are intended to stay in all day, these silicone Kegel Tightener Balls only need to stay in for 15-30 minutes each day to create improved muscle tone. Time will tell how well they work for my wife, but she is quite pleased with them so far.

After 2 kids and needing to squeeze some things shut after two sneezes, I decided a little bit more exercise was in order. As such, I wanted to try out some kegel balls to help strengthen the ol’ pelvic floor. A full set of 5 contoured kegel balls seemed like just the item to try out.
The design of the product is just about perfect. The balls themselves are wrapped in silicone with what I’ll call a “leg” of silicone that extends outward for easy removal of the ball. The shape of the silicone wrap is perfect for internal comfort; I did not even notice the ball was inserted and removal was comfortable as well. I was very thankful for the “leg” as it made removal easy without needing to dig or push the ball out. Also, the silicone makes it very easy to clean with just a light soapy water wash. Also, this is the type of silicone that is smooth and doesn’t attract dust.
The set of 5 balls is also a more gradual progression than a lot of ball sets I’ve seen which have 2 sizes. The more gradual progression in weight allows the user to build up to the heavier balls as they feel ready without needing to jump in sizes too quickly. They come in weight order in the package, so I would recommend taking a picture of the order since as best I could tell the weights are not noted on the balls themselves (I also may have missed it if it was there, so don’t discount that).
In addition to the balls being comfortable and easy to insert/remove, the actual use of the balls is easy and comfortable as well. The directions recommend that you use them for 15-30 minutes at a time, and so I kept mine inserted while I was in the shower. I was able to keep it in the entire time and it wasn’t uncomfortable at any point. Once they’re clean and dried after use, the box they came in for storage is a nice, simple black box with a foam insert to keep the balls organized.
If you are looking for a good, comfortable, easy to use set of kegel balls, I definitely recommend this set. The ONLY caveat is that I would recommend looking up on the internet for how to use them, as the directions are very vague in terms of knowing when to move up in weight is.
